The ease of use is a great plus of the Britrail pass. On some long distance routes we reserved seats ( essential to do and no extra cost to do). We would have found it useful to be able to reserve seats before we left Australia, but this was not possible. Could we suggest that it would be good if this could become possible in the future? We travelled from London to Durham two days after we arrived in UK and there were no seats available to reserve. Thus we had to stand all the way. (Though a very kind passenger did give up his seat for one of us). We were surprised there are not sufficient seats for all passengers travelling. It would also be useful to be able to book through luggage on long distance routes. We enjoyed the great variety of trains across England - from small one carriage l,coal trains to the high speed ones on the long routes.

"This is the third time I have used a flexi pass on my UK visits, I just love them as I cannot be bothered to orgainize booking of my journeys and I always find I can get on to premium train service, and go where I like."

I have found that the train stations are well manned with helpful staff, this adds to my enjoyment of travelling around England. As I never have the help of an I pad or smart phone I need to find information the old fashioned way. It still works out fine for me, and I also enjoy no plan days of just getting on and off train services exploring small towns, and villages. There is only one thing I find frustrating about the pass, which is that you cannot buy 6 days worth of travel, as I tend to go for short trips the 4 days is just too little and really it can be hard to use up all 8 days. So if I could buy a 6 day pass that would be perfect for me.

This is the third Flexi Pass I have used over the years, and these are tips for new users: 1. To reserve a seat, thus ensuring you can travel on the train you want, you need to do so the day before (cannot be done on the day of travel) 2. The different train lines have varying levels of luxury / attentiveness, so each experience will be different 3. Go somewhere for the day - just because you can

The pass was great value for money and much cheaper than buying tickets in the UK. However, many station staff had no knowledge of the pass which made travel a challenge at times. Also, it was not easy to make advance reservations once in country.

This pass takes all thr worry out of travelling around Britian. It's the second time I have had one. No more worries about always having the money for tickets, or which price ticket to buy. We always have Seniot First Class, the carriage staff are great, so are the snacks. As for the seats, they are the best ever. Also, being on trains you very seldom run late because they don't get caught up in the dreadful English traffic. I would highly recommend them to any Australian coming over here. Can't wait for my next trip.

I thought the trains that I travelled on which were Virgin, X-country and Scotrail were on time ,clean with friendly staff. It was a pleasure to travel on them and when I return to Australia I most certainly will be promoting Britrail as the preferred system of travel within the UK.

This is the second time I have used a Britrail England Flexi Pass, I found it much less of a hassle than hiring a car. The trains are really great in England, and the pass means that you do not have to budget while on holiday, you have already paid for your travel. first class for the long trips is a real pleasure, however it is not much different to economy on the slower stopping trains; but it might mean that you get a seat in busy times. The stations have lots of helpful staff, and there are refreshments on the longer fast train rides. For me this is the only way to get about in England.

This is the third time we have used the England only Flexi pass. We use it to get around the uk visiting relatives etc. We find it great because you can use it on any train, meaning if plans change you don't need to worry about rebooking or rebutting train tickets (many types of uk train tickets, particularly the cheaper ones are only valid on 1 train and often not refundable). Price wise we find a mix of longer distances and short distances cover the cost of the past easily v actually buying train tickets direct.

I liked the product with long train services I was using, but I was a little mis-led by my travel agent who told me that I would be purchasing a card to scan, which was then valid for any train in the next 24 hour period. I was informed at Heathrow this was not the case - the pass was valid for one day, not a 24 hour period; so if I started using it at say, 7pm, I wouldn't be able to use it much that day. That was rather annoying to hear when I was in England - I'm not sure if that means I was directed to purchase the wrong pass or not - but that was sort of my travel agent's fault for either not directing me to the correct rail pass. I would have saved more if it had been able to be used 24 hours after each scan like Bob said, that's all. I'm still happy with the product.
