"If you are planning on getting around in London using buses or the tube you will definitely want one of these."

The Oyster Card seriously reduces the cost of travel on buses and tubes in London compared with purchasing a paper ticket. It also reduces the time and hassle spent trying to get a paper ticket so well worth it. The "Visitor" Oyster card also gives you a discount on some attractions and shopping however we never had occasion to use that facility. If you're going to be travelling around London using public transport you will definitely want one of these.

If you want to get around London for a few days or longer this card is very handy and an economical way to do it especially with the daily cap if lots of travel changes are made.

Used the visitors oyster card on the london underground, the D.L.R and also the Thames clippers. Topping up the card was hassle free and easy to use.

You buy it with a balance so its ready to go. Check balance and top up if needed at virtually all tube and national rail stations London area. Supplement it with fare calculator tools on line.

It was great to be able to get off the plane at Heathrow and pop straight on the tube without having to worry about getting an oyster card here. Very convenient if you are taking public transport in London. It was easy to top up by popping into one of the many little shops that do that, and it was also easy to get refunded the excess credit after we took our last tube using a machine at the station.

"The Oyster Card for London's tube and buses - delivered in Australia"

Value for money: 5/5
Ease of use: 5/5
Suitability: 5/5

The Oyster card is the equivalent of Melbourne's myki or Perth's Smartrider or Sydney's Opal card. If you like being organised and want the Oyster card in your wallet so that you don't have to go about buying one at a station upon arrival then ordering one from Rail Place is a convenient, handy thing to do. Credit lasts forever (subject to unforeseen future changes). I would strongly suggest you allow at least 2-3 weeks between ordering and your departure for UK as delivery took longer than I thought.
