Rail Plus Delivers The Bear Necessities

Monday, 10 April 2017

According to Rail Plus, travellers’ interest in Canada is on a steady growth with the company recording a year-on-year increase of 18% for rail bookings and 14% for tour packages.

While Canada has always been one of the more popular destinations among the company’s customers across Australia, bookings have notably strengthened over the last couple of years thanks to increased travellers’ interest in the country’s wildlife assets.

Commercial Director of Rail Plus, Ingrid Kocijan, says consumer demands have given rise to the company’s dedicated portfolio of Canada Wildlife and Adventure Packages, with tour options doubling over the last two years.

“There’s no doubt that we are a population of wildlife lovers and we often seek out new and different opportunities to have up-close wildlife encounters that further enhance our travel experiences,” says Kocijan.

“Given that Canada is home to some of the world’s most beautiful and majestic animals, it comes as no surprise that more of our travellers are interested to see and learn about them during their visits. And we are here to deliver these incredible experiences.

“Our Canadian wildlife tour packages stretch between 5D/4N and 9D/8N, and most of the itineraries include bears,” she says. “Whether it’s the Grizzlies, black bears or polar bears, we know bears are a quintessential part of any Canadian visit and they continue to be a major highlight for our travellers.

Depending on the tour location, certain itineraries also include encounters with beluga whales, bison and moose.

Kocijan adds that travellers are assured all of the tours have been specifically designed to maximise their time in, and exposure to, the great Canadian wilderness.

With prices starting at $3,878 per person twin share, Rail Plus’ Canada Wildlife and Adventure Packages offer travellers a mix of 3 star, 4 star and luxury accommodation options, meals, basic transfers, excursions and specialist adventure guides.

Canada enjoyed a 16% year-on-year increase in Australian visitors in 2016; and Rail Plus predicts an increase in travel to British Columbia, Alberta and Victoria this year, where travellers will tag on the increasingly popular itineraries for Twilight Wildlife Viewing, Discover Banff & Its Wildlife and Whale Watching respectively.
