Great one off experience for getting from central London holiday accommodation to central Paris holiday accommodation. Efficient and well operated. Departure waiting area a little crowded. Train was 'dirty' externally, especial noticable were the windows which made looking at the passing countryside a bit 'down' from expectations. As a special train a cleaner exterior would be expected.

We travelled with 12 year old granddaughter. That's a tick off her bucket list! The Eurostar facts that came up on the screen were a good feature, maybe a bit more info about the Eurostar would be a positive addition, Otherwise an enjoyable trip!

Loved the train ride. So much more pleasant that getting in a plane. And you get to see the country side. Queues boarding were a problem. People need to be advised that they need to be there to go through check points much more that the information that the train boards 30 minutes prior to leaving. A family member we were to travel with was there prior to 30 minutes but the queues were so long he missed his departure time. Also a seat no had been changed, by 9 carriages, and we were not aware of this till we go into the platform. The waiting area was way to crowded. More space needed.

Check-in area in London was extremely crowded because the Eurostar to Paris due to depart more than 30 minutes before our train to Brussels was delayed indefinitely. Serving breakfast rather than lunch on a train departing on a two-hour journey at 10.58 am seemed a little strange. Connection with ICE train to Germany was also chaotic.

To be honest our trip was cancelled over 4 weeks agao and when trying to claim a refund were advised it was not possible therefore not impressed at all with the ticketing optioins.

Moderator: "Thanks Kevin. Ticket conditions can vary depending on the train and fare- the Eurostar does not offer refunds except for Business Premier class tickets but does allow exchanges prior to the booked travel date. We would highly recommend that travellers have adequate travel insurance to cover them in the event that they need to cancel their trip."

Stowage of luggage can be a problem, especially if your seat is upstairs. Try to get into the train early so that you can stow your luggage in the racks near the doorways before the fill up. Your only choice then is to lift it onto the above head areas which can be a problem depending how heavy it is. Travelling light is a good plan.

* An overall very positive experience but would have appreciated more advance information eg that we would be served a light meal on board - would have avoided buying lunch to eat prior to boarding. Could have had more assistance getting luggage on/off train over considerable distance from/to platform. * The speed & comfort of the train were extremely impressive for me as a first time user. * Arriving on time made our next commitment to access pre-arranged accommodation happen very smoothly!

very noisy and rude family with 2 young children in the First Class carriage, who upset everyone in carriage. They seemed to think it was funny for them to scream all the way to Paris. Staff didn't deal with it at all well. Maybe all families should be in one carriage? never enough space for luggage on Eurostar and staff do not help, even if they are stood beside you! Toilets were filthy , particularly as compared to TGV.

What I didn't like about the journey was the lack of information provided en-route including, speed travelling when we were about to enter and leave the tunnel and especially the need to adjust our watches for the time difference. This last issue could cause major problems with meeting people if you weren't aware of the time zones.

I know it is not the fault of Eurostar that there were technical difficulties closing the tunnel on the day we travelled, but it did make for a very long journey to be delayed by 1 hour 45 mins, just sitting on the train. The offer of my next train trip at half price, to make up for the inconvenience, is unusable for someone living in Australia. How about returning half of the 180 euros I paid for the two tickets. Also, and this is EXTREMELY inconvenient, Australian debit/credit cards don't work on SNCF or Eurostar websites. I had to wait until I was actually in the country and then borrow a French person's credit card, and pay them back. Five Australian credit/debit cards, all in different names, were tried and none of them worked! You can't book any of your French train travel from Australia.

I am a travel agent in Australia and book with rail plus frequently. I purchased my tickets online but was disappointed on seat allocation. I was hoping for big windows for the views but instead was given a seat with a pilon so could not see anything. Thankfully the train was not full so was able to change seats facing forward with wonderful views from a big window. I feel these seats should only be sold to last minute passengers when there is nothing else available. Seats should be able to change for directions as some people experience nausea going backwards. In the end a great and easy journey.

The train service itself is very good. Comfy, smooth and at least in our case - on time. It's a shame that you have to have hard copy tickets that are sent to you rather than being able to print an e ticket. The check in process was very lengthy and a bit clunky as well. It is easier at airports

From Charles de gaul 1 of our 4 seats also double booked & the lady sat in a small seat in between carriages until we left train at Lille. Fares very expensive to book through Australia compared to from France. We were told tickets could not be emailed & needed to be posted as proper tickets & best to book from aust. The booking was simple and reasonably priced through RailPlus in Australia. The service at both ends was slick. Train was timely and snack food adequate. Some of the French Customs and Police could try and match their British counterparts. The only minor criticism is that it would be good if the ticket could be changeable. Great trip

A pleasant journey with the exception of the return journey where we were seated at a table for four, with a couple with a baby, not a lot of leg or privacy. Not what you would expect when purchasing a business class fare! Also the food was terrible. I think the best option is to save money and just go economy class.

Thought Paris could have signage as to getting to Eurostar station from local rail. Couldn't even find a "local" who could give accurate direction. Fortunately we had plenty of time, but by the time we went through customs we were so flustered which caused another problem, we just made it to a departing train as it was about to leave, which ended up being the earlier train, However the staff were excellent in finding seating for 6 separating us in only 2 groups.

Travelling from Paris to London is extremely efficient, fast and well priced. Not knowing what to expect, we found passing through both the French and British Customs and Immigration to be easy and straight forward. Even though the speed of the train is fast, it still does not detract from the scenery. In fact, out of a 2.5 hour trip, only 20 minutes is spent travelling through the tunnel of the English Channel. One thing very noticeable is how quiet and smooth the ride is. In our opinion, it is far better travelling this way than by plane - especially cost wise. It is very hard to find fault with this service. As far as faults go, our only concern is the lack of storage space for the larger luggage bags situated at the ends of each carriage. However; the overhead luggage shelves are very generous which easily accommodate medium and carry-on (aircraft) luggage. There is also another smaller shelf under the overhead shelf for smaller items such as coats etc. For the experience and the ease of travelling from Paris to London, we are so pleased that we travelled by Eurostar Fast Train.

Paris Gare du Nord is a problem - so many passengers and the French put on non-English speaking personnel at the start of the concourse; after that it was good. Only one escalator to get your suitcases up to the concourse and the numerous passport & security checks - allow enough time to get through. Overall - good and easier/quicker than flying.

Experienced travelling couple arrived at a busy Gare du Nord with plenty of time to spare, but for a first time Eurostar traveller the relevant signage in GDN station was a little hard to find (i.e. need to access upstairs by elevator). Having bought tickets online in Australia, would have appreciated more concise directions as to what to expect at departure point. A bit of a scrum to board the 2nd class carriage, not enough room for bags as nearly all passengers travelled with multiple large trolley bags. Once underway, very efficient. Enjoyed the casual bar area and friendly passengers of all nationalities. Kings Cross arrival very efficient.

The Eurostar is one of those visionary transport projects that works, despite the financial difficulties of such projects and the objections of the Channel ferry companies when it was proposed. Point to point transport between two of europe's major cities that delivers the traveller into the heart of either city cannot be overstated. Why would anyone bother flying between London and Paris, with all of its stress, delays and inconvenience, when a valid, often cheaper alternative is available? And taking about the same time... The Eurostar could benefit from better design for luggage, as the availalbe racks on our train filled up very quickly, and our carriage's passengers were consequently subjected to a shrill demand to "move your bags now to make more room" from an over-zealous employee. She even started to remove my bag from the racks, at which I replied that I wasn't happy about her moving my bag without asking me. sometimes the unwillingess of the British to make an effort to be better organised leaves me cold. The carriages could be a little more comfortable, especially when they are compared to the French trains. Choice of fares - I bought my ticket on-line before I left Australia - is great.

Arrived at Gare du Nord station about 1.5 hour before departure. Easily found our way to the first level although the signage did not say Eurostar as expected rather London. Completed the passport control form for non EU passport holders and proceeded first of all through ticket validation and then passport control. Was quizzed about my Australian passport as my stated place of birth was UK. but the officer was interest in knowing how much he could earn in customs in Oz. Went through with an hour to spare and got a coffee and a pastry. Noticed that a lot of late arrivals booked on the earlier train were not allowed to board as they were minutes late. No mucking around here the trains leave dead on time. We were in carriage 2 right near the front of the train so there was a bit of a hike down the platform as the train was pretty long. At the rear of each carriage is a compartment to put full size suitcases where our 2 went. There is a area for smaller cases and racks above the seats for airline size cabin bags..the train was not full and we were allowed to move seats from the per numbered allocated ones to take advantage of the better window positions. The train was not entirely clean, the seat had a food wrapper on it and the small bin by the side of the seat was already full of rubbish and not been cleaned out. I really enjoyed the experience of the train trip was was quieter than I anticipated . I also thought that the train would appear to be going a lot faster than it did. When we travelled along side of a motorway you could then experience the speed more.the two hours or so went really quickly and we arrived about a minute early into London. The whole thing was a much more relaxing method of travel compared to air and for 50 euro a good deal

We found the Eurostar an effective way to travel from London to Paris and return. This was preferred over plane travel because there are less hassles with embarking and immigration at both ends of the journey. Food is quite reasonable and the seating is more comfortable than a plane. The advice I would give is to book as far ahead as practical to ensure desired seat allocation and minimisation of ticket price, and to get to your assigned coach as quickly as possible to get easy access to luggage racks on the train.

Having just travelled back-to-back business classes with NTV (Italy) and SNCF (France) it's good to accurately compare. NTV was a new train, colourful decor nothing rattled, great comfort and stylish. SNCF was tired, my reclining seat button was missing. Replacement flouro lights were different colours and toilets needed replacing. Eurostar was the business. Food and menus included. (not on the others) the carriages older but well maintained and clean. That's the difference. You can only be new, once but it's how you age gracefully with class that matters.

I travelled Amsterdam to London, via Brussels, a Thalys train Amsterdam to Brussels and Eurostar Brussels to London. Travel time was 5 hours 38 minutes, of which 1 hour 48 minutes, almost a third was sitting around in Brussels. This is pretty poor timetabling. Trains are timed through the day to leave Brussels about 15 minutes BEFORE the connecting services come in from Amsterdam. Don't the train operators talk to each other?

Go straight to Eurostar's own website and buy your tickets there after consulting the website of "The Man in Seat Sixty-one" (www.seat61.com) Eurostar allows you to choose your own seat which Rail Plus does not. I was allocated a rear facing seat by Rail Plus who misled me then refused point blank to make any alteration, and I was obliged to ring Eurostar in London, who happily made the changes I wanted without demur. So avoid Rail Plus. And think of using Lille as a transfer point in France to TGV services if possible. This avoids the difficulty and expense of crossing Paris to different termini.

Not the fault of RailPlus. We travelled standard premier (not the top class these days) with discount using Britrail pass on train #9032 from London. The carriages were shabby, my tray table listed as had no support other than my knees, the seats were not as roomy as my first trip last century, the service was OK, the food served at our seats was a cold choice only but tasted OK and included wine - at least we arrived in Paris safely and on time. Before this trip I'd recommended it to a few people but can only hope they did not travel in economy!!

Unless you enjoy that tightening feeling in your sphincter get to the Paris terminal an hour before departure. 45 minutes was hardly enough for us to get through French then British passport checks then (useless) baggage and personal security checks. Economy class toilets in our car and adjoining had no running water in either wash basin or toilet. One (dry) toilet bowl was stuffed with paper. Too bad if you soaped up your hands before running the water. At least the hand dryers worked so your hands would be sticky, but dry. Last trip in Economy for us, while we can afford it. Exterior of trains very grubby. I believe Chinese fast trains are washed at the end of every journey. A job perhaps for some of the unemployed youth of Europe.

this is the 3rd time i have used your service (I live in australia). i found the first two times to be better than this 3rd time. I dont recall the train being so musty, dirty looking since last used in 2010. Also, my tray table was broken and armrest stayed on a 90 degree angle. I would still use your service again, despite these minor things but i think the trains need a bit of a sprucing up with internal decor.

I crossed from Paris to London. The station staff are very friendly and helpful, a pity about the British Customs officers - I felt like I was at the inquisition and they would cart me off to gaol if I said one wrong word. Once past Customs, there are a few shops and food outlets. There are nowhere near enough seats, though. Once on the platform, it is not immediately obvious which carriage you need - the numbers are on the patform itself, by the door to the carriage, but not every door! The seats on board are comfortable enough, but everything looks quite worn - I wonder if First Class is kept in better condition? I also ate on board - despite reviews that the food is not good and quite expensive, I had an absolutely delicious pizza, fresh cooked, for 9.90 Euro. Oh, and if you have heavy luggage, do your best to get on board early so as to get luggage space on the lower racks. Still, all in all, this was a great way to get from Paris to London quickly and with very little fuss.

The "Chunnel" was on my Bucket List, so was pleasantly surprised at the lovely state of St Pancras Station. Then the efficiency of getting onto the platform and the way it was all handled geting onto the train. The trip itself was very relaxing and our breakfast more than adequate. A pity Gare du Norde in Paris, didn't come up to the standard as St Pancras, but that was OK as we weren't getting on that end!

Got ripped of buying the 2 day Paris Pass ($250+). The distance we had to go to collect the tickets was ridiculous and we were told there was a free t-shirt included, which wasn't the case. The Hop on Hop off bus tour was fine except the miserable lady on the bus didn't validate our tickets so we couldn't use our train tickets. The boat cruise was nice but thought we could get on at a different location only to find we couldn't and ended up having to go to Eiffel Tower area to get on. Wasted valuable holiday time! The French should appreciate the tourist dollar pays their wages and service with a smile wouldn' hurt. Aghhhh

The air conditioning failed in the car we were travelling in so we were moved to another car.No problems for us but if the train had been full that would have caused some discomfort for some I would imagine. Also got caught by being told at the Info counter in Brussels Midi that our Eurostar ticket was ok for "anywhere in Belgium" when in fact it wasn''t at all. This resulted in us being bailed up by a very pleasant(luckily I might add) ticket inspector half way to Bruges who explained that there were in fact two types of Eurostar tickets, one with and one without anywhere status. We duly paid our fare and that was that.

The only regret my daughter and friend had on the Eurostar was at the end at Paris de Nord. There they were robbed by a local thief who sold them local rail tickets. He brought them children tickets but charged them adult prices. He wouldn't take no for an answer. He threaten them unless they paid up. It was during the week not many security staff or station staff around for help. A bad experience of French hosiptality.

The train is much easier than getting a flight, the seats are more comfortable and you can take more luggage. I was able to join the train at a station outside of Paris, one RER stop away from an outlet shopping centre!! The train then went to a station in Kent where I was staying which was handy.

We caught the first Eurostar train of the day to London to visit an exhibition at Buckingham Palace and came back in the evening of that day. Everything ran smoothly despite some time spent queueing at Gare du Nord ( presumably because it was the first train of the day) The service in the train was excellent and the staff most helpful and obliging. On the way back to Paris one of the staff went to find out the Wimbledon mens final results for us when we asked her if she knew who had won It was an excellent day. We will be travelling by train in Europe again next year and will definitely use Rail plus for our travel arrangements

On the trip to Paris we had a group of young girls on their way to a wedding, and they seem to have started the party early. On the way back we had a carriage full of some French youth group, whose leader kept addressing them as if no-one else was there. Their luggage filled the carriage totally. When they left the train, they took about ten minutes to get all their baggage off.

Eurostar is by far the worst train experience I have ever had. Bar None. Went to Gare du Nord a few hours early for a recce (luckily) and found a total schemozzle so we made sure we were there at 2pm to check in for our 3:13pm train. Battled with no signage, useless Eurostar staff, hopelessly slow and understaffed French customs people. Slow, dim-witted, arrogant English customs people for 1 1/2 hours to be told first we had missed the train, then that they were holding the train. Got on train, every seat including our booked seats were taken (by people who appeared to be from a ce Euro-"star" my arse - more like Euroshitfight. I'm sure its just a plot by the French, dutifully assisted by the dim-witted English Customs dept to make England look bad. I can report the plot is working well. My son suggested its a strategy to make would be terrorists give up and stay in Europe.

The reason I only gave 2 for ease of use is the ticket was not entirely visual. I mean that the depart time does not say depart time and arrive time does not say arrive time. We missed the train and had to rebook at a cost ofover $300. On the replacement ticket we purchased the depart and arrive time were clear.

This train is amazing in its speed and convenience to hop between Paris/London or Brussels/London. Note there are only 3 classes now on the Eurostar and only Business Premier (which is awfully expensive) allows you access to the lounge at the terminal. However Standard premier is excellent value with lots of leg space and drink and food included in the price. Standard you have to buy your food/drink and leg space is more restricted but hey it is only 2 hours ! Do try and book in advance as far as possible as you get some great deals. Also try to avoid the Monday and Friday commute rush times of people working in London for the week or having a weekend away.

There is nothing quite like a ride on Eurostar and it is still an amazing way to travel between two countries separated by a water. The lunch was ok without being great but the real disappointment was, yet again, ending up with seats next to a wall column. Luckily, we were able to negotiate with the conductor for better placed seats - but that was because the carriage was only half full. Ironically, the seats in the economy cars are better placed against the windows, presumably because they are closer together. If you end up with a dud seat in first class, which is a real risk, it can spoil the journey if you can't move seats.

On a very hot 30 degree day, the air conditioning did not work which meant that a full carriage of passengers were forced to endure rather uncomfortable conditions. No windows could be opened so there was a dangerous lack of fresh air. On top of that, the train was 30 minutes late, which meant that we were locked inside that train for over 3 hours. The staff had to come through the carriage with cold water to avoid any passengers from passing out.An apology came through offering a free trip on the Eurostar within the next 12 months, but what good is that to an Australian who lives on the other side of the world. We were extremely glad to get off the thing, dripping wet with perspiration as we were. Not impressed.

Boarding the train was a bit of a hassle as I can't walk long distances and there appeared no one was around to help me. This is my first time traveling on the train but could not see the countryside as I had hoped because our view was blocked by a very wide window pillar. There were four of us traveling together, the other two had a very good view from their window. I wanted to take lots of photos to show the family back home in Australia, but this was not possible.

I found the Eurostar an enjoyable train ride from Paris to London, the journey was very quick and comfortable. The only negative I have is when I arrived at Gare De Nord train station, I arrived with ample time before my train departed, however, I constantly kept an eye on the departure times screen and the platform for the train was never displayed. It was not until about 15 mins before departure time that I heard an unclear announcement that my train was calling for final check-ins. By the time I found my way to the check-in which was located on the first floor I was too late to check-in and missed my train. The lady at the check-in was kind enough to put me on the next train free of charge, however, I was on stand-by and had to wait until everyone was seated then I was able to take the remaining available seats. My advice is to listen carefully for the announcements. But all in all, the Eurostar is a scenic and fast way to get to London.

We caught the Eurostar from London to Paris and the check-in and travel was a lot more pleasurable than going by plane from any of the air terminals around London. Travel from London by Eurostar to Paris is in my opinion the only way to do it.It is excellent. A short cab ride to St Pancras station in London - a minimum of fuss going through customs / baggage - then easy boarding into your carriage. A relaxed train ride reading the papers and then you are there. A cab from Garde du Nord to your hotel and all is well. Compare this to the dramas associated with flying from Heathrow - the cost of travel to the airport - dealing with the crowds - the tiresome customs and baggage lines that take forever - the cost of getting to Paris from Charles de Gaulle when you get there etc etc.Instead of feeling relaxed you feel just the opposite.

You wouldn't want to be travelling with too much luggage but the trip is comfortable and the seats likewise. Familiarity with the overall process would assist in choosing preferred seats etc. Plenty of opportunity to do your own thing re food/snacks. Eurostar is certainly a much better way to travel between London and western Europe than flying. Its convenient, fast, and check in is a breeze compared to what happens at airports these days. There is a lot to see watching the scenery go from a large carriage window rather than being contained in an aluminium cylinder about eight kilometers in the sky seeing nothing. However, the interior of the carriages do need a bit of sprucing up.

The Eurostar offers a very convenient way of transferring from the centre of London to the centre of Paris (neither airport are close to the city centre). It is comfortable with more room than a plane for you and your luggage; a small meal is provided and there is easy access to the dining car. Passing through the immigration and customs desks is far quicker than at an airport. You also get to see a little of the countryside around London and Paris. My wife and I booked about 7 weeks in advance and scored a great fare of AUD90 each (plus small fees) on Eurostar from London St Pancras to Paris early September. Checkin and security was easy and because the various trains leave about 20-30 mins apart there were no big crowds to contend with. Left on time and arrived on time. And fast. A great experience. If arriving at Heathrow the Piccadilly Line tube takes you direct to St Pancras too which was so convenient.

We have travelled Eurostar Paris/London many times and found it to be excellent. This was our first (and last) experience of travelling in the opposite direction - London/Paris. A small fruit knife packed in our suitase, which we have always carried on Eurostar Paris/London, caused us to be delayed at London security for almost an hour while our suitcase was turned out, searched in minute detail and put through the x-ray machine three times. Security staff would not tell us what it was they were looking for, otherwise we could have saved them an hour of wasted time. We almost missed our Eurostar service to Paris and will never travel Eurostar London/Paris again.

Not Impressed! It seemed to us that we were 2nd class citizens because we were in the middle of the carriage with a column blocking our vista. There was no air conditioning duct handy either as there were in the other seats which passenges occupied. r&l

Simply, my only real gripe is with Rail Plus, not Eurostar. On this trip, we were three people travelling together. With a couple, you sit together, one window seat and one aisle seat. Rail Plus issued us with one window and two aisle seats. In the middle of each carriage there is four seats facing each other with a table in the middle. We would have been exceptionaly gratefull if Rail Plus would have given us those seats. After all we booked about a month in advance and the people we noticed in those seats wouldn't have booked that far ahead. Last year we went by Eurostar, i remember well having a map on the internet on the seating arrangement. It has even a choice of carriage. We are tourists and would like to see the scenery of the places we go past. Do you know where Rail Plus let us sit on this trip? One seat behind the middle of the carrage and no window at the side. Next time I will stick to past habits and book online direct to the company. As for Eurostar, the chores of dragging luggage through Gare de Nord, check-in, passport control then security. Second class crampness where if your bigger than a midget, try getting the table on the back of the seat of the person in front of you down. But high speed trains. What a way to travel. (wish we could have seen some of the country side).

Our train journeys were all excellent - although getting the connections were, at times, a challenge. Travel first class on long hauls if you can - much better and more relaxed. Second class is a bun fight and the carriages are packed and hot. Recommend packing light as hauling cases up and down stairs and across platforms is draining and there is not always storeage space available. Overall, great way to travel as you arrive in the middle of the cities and don't have to travel to and from airports out of town.

Our only hiccup with this system was when we had to collect our e-tickets in London. At no point was it made clear to us from the website or Australian end of the operations that these tickets could only be collected from Internation Station, e.g. St Pancreas where we did eventually have success. Just that little bit of precise information could have saved us a lot of travelling between major stations in London.

We purchased first class tickets and thought the facilities were second class. Like an increasing number of passengers, I am 2 metres in height and it was impossible to fit my legs into the space between the seats. Also on taking my seat I noticed that the arm rest was loose and it eventually fell off. I reported the occurrence to the train manager, whose retort was "yes we knew about that".

Apart from the problems with finding luggage space to place our cases, the only complaint was the lack of information on the station notice boards. As international passengers we could not understand the screen and it was difficult to find a company representative. When, at one major station, I asked a person in uniform on how to get to the departure platform he pointed to the badge on his sleeve which said he was security, not a good impression. On two occassions we nearly missed our connections. The first occassion was when the notice board did not mention that the two train numbers were for the same trip, except that the first 8 carriages went to one destination and the second to another. In our home country we would possibly understand this, however in a country where we could not speak the language, and did not understand the geography, it was a problem. On the seond occassion we decided against having lunch when we arrived on the first leg of our journey until we booked into the next train. As we had a 2 hour break between our arrival in Paris, from Lyon,we considered we had plenty of time between trains. On arriving at Paris Nord we found a line of possibly 300 passengers waiting in line to go through customs. The French security decided to put on a check of all luggage which added to the time taken to board. I believe Eurostar should give more attention to making the travel more convenient. We would take a air flight in preference next time, as there is no incentive to travel by rail, except the greatest advantage Eurostar have over air, which is the ability to drop their passengers within the capital.

I would never book through Rail Plus again. I was shocked and very annoyed to find that Railplus charges additional booking fees and credit card fees which if you book through Eurostar direct you are not charged these fees. In addition, with RailPlus, you pay more but do not get the options you get if you book through Eurostar direct. With Eurostar direct, you can choose your seats and meal options. When I asked Railplus for the same service, they said it wasn't possible yet they charge more!

We boarded Eurostar at Ashford in UK for Paris. Once you figured out how to get to where to park the Avis rental, the rest was easy. Quick checkin and very comfortable seats. Whole experience (other than trying to find the correct parking station) was painless. Eurostar is much more convenient and easier to negotiate than the airport these days. Have made several Eurostar trips, unfortunately this was the first to have a problem. Some kind of works in the tunnel delayed my train for 45 minutes, and it was almost an hour late arriving in London. Would just have been a minor irritation except that I had made plans based on an on-time arrival... maybe the tip for other travellers is to allow for possible delays when planning Eurostar trips.

Wifi should be available on board the train. The Thalys in France has it included in first class. It would be a minimal capital expense, and running cost that would easily repay.

Our family of 6 had a very comfortable trip to London on the Eurostar. There could however be more room for baggage. The only other comment I would make is in regards to the waiting area in Paris-more chairs are needed to accommodate all the waiting passengers.

We went on the Eurostar this week when there was disruption due to the extreme weather. I was nervous whether we would get our connection to be in London for Christmasbut fortunately the service was pretty much back to normal on 24/12. I was actually surprised that the disruptions a few days earlier had not effected us in anyway. It was a very smooth check-in and trip to London, only taking 30 minutes extra due to the cold weather. I'd certainly use the service again.

Compared with trains in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, which are roomy and clean in both first and second class, the Eurostar was the worst train I travelled on due to cramped seats with minimum leg room and a filthy toilet.

My service was badly affected by weather, which is not Eurostar's fault, however the way it was dealt with was not satisfactory. Crowd control was poor and very little information was forthcoming about the disruptions and what would happen.

Both me and my wife had never been on the Eurostar before and my wife was concerned but once we started the journey it was relaxing and enjoyable. My wife and I enjoyed the whole trip and we would do it again and we recommend this to anyone travelling between London and Paris just for the experience. The staff team were more than helpful both in the terminals and on the train. Many thanks..

We have travelled on the Eurostar many times and it is always an efficient and quick way to get to Paris or Brussels. Last December when the Eurostar had problems with icing up in the tunnel we were caught in Paris and were unable to return to London until the problem was rectified. When we did eventually leave Paris the Eurostar staff were very efficient, upgraded us and ensured we had a pleasant journey.

I decided to spoil my adult children and myself and travel first class to Paris on the Eurostar from London. I had pre purchased my tickets in Australia and thought I would be so very organised. My plans came undone when we were caught on the freeway due to a road accident, on our way to London. I knew we were going to miss the train and we did. I stayed calm and went to the counter and had the most devine French man assist me. I explained my what had happenned and said to him that I would pay what ever it cost as I did not want to ruin the holiday for my family. The French man turned to me and said "Madam I have not asked you for any money, please wait". I waited.. To add to the situation, I had a ticket that had a non cancellation and no change policy. The Frenchman returned and smiled and handed my 3 new tickets I looked and noticed he ahd also given me 1st class. He then directe dme to the immigration clearance to catch the next departing train and said to enjoy my journey. I could not of been more thankfull. We all boarded quicky and delighted in our first class travel to Paris. The hightlights were every thing about the journey. The meal and service were superb. I would also recommend that when the chocolates that are given after the main meals you should help yourself and do not be shy. I did not realise they were Jeff Deburg Chocolates and wondered why women were stuffing them in the hand bags. I only took two. Once I arrived in Paris I sighted them and now know how expensive they are. I missed that one, but not next time. This is a fun train journey and I would always recommend to my clients to try at least once. Who said the French were rude, I would never say that to be true. I love the Frenchman. Sharlene Neist

It was New Year's Eve of 2000, we had our picnic packed with champagne & horsd'oeuvres & tickets with passports prepared. Unfortunately we missed our train from London Waterloo along with the next two, therefore 2 other girlfriends had to wait for us on the platform in Brussels to get the local train on to Bruges. We eventually arrived in to Bruges and checked in to our hotel to celebrate midnight in the room ! Anna and I loved our Eurostar experience with our beautiful hamper and accommodating staff - the ease of clearing customs & quickness of travel through two other countries was just fantastic. We made sure we had plenty of time to enjoy some Belgian Waffles in Brussels before our return journey. I had such a good experience I booked another weekend away to visit Paris on the Eurostar.

We have just had the pleasure of travelling from London to Paris and return on the Eurostar. What a great way to get to the continent, no expensive airport transfers or over the top security, just jump on in the middle of London and pop out in the middle of Paris! It was comfortable, easy and will be oh so easy for me to sell to my clients now that I have actually done it myself! The funny story is, my five year old, who was very excited about going on a train under the water......several minutes after we entered the chunnel she said "I can't see under the water Mum, where are the fish?" Bless her, she thought it would be like underwater world!!!

The start should've been a give away....wandering through Gare du Nord with our luggage unable to read the signs properly which was strange considering we had no problems with the Metro from day 1! After half an hour we finally get to check in and have a snack while waiting to board the Eurostar. We have no problems with the journey until we stop just after coming out of the tunnel in the UK - 45 minutes later we get moving (with no explanation of the problem) and during the stop we're trying to contact Hertz to advise of the delay - with no luck at the depot and very little help from the reservations number we had been given. We finally arrive into London and think that due to the delay, we would be best to take a taxi to the car hire depot....ANOTHER.....problem.....took an hour to get through the taxi queue. Almost 2 hours after arriving into London we finally get our car. With all of this in mind : if booking car hire - request a pick up time of at least an hour after the estimated train arrival time and pre-book a transfer if the depot is not within an easy walking distance of the station, taxi wait is ridiculous....or better still : have your Oyster Card before you leave home and take the easiest & quickest travel option!

What a wonderful present! As a surprise for my husband's 50th birthday, the family decided to buy him a Eurostar ticket from Paris to London at the end of our tour of France (to tell you the truth we couldn't face another flight) Well what a day it was. Breakfast overlooking the Seine Mid morning, followed by a taxi race to The Gard du Nord for our exciting chunnel ride to London. Once on board, we finally said good bye to the train station crowds and settled in to our comfortable window seats. I took a leisurely stroll to the dining car and brought back champagne and savouries which we toasted to many more birthdays to come. Suddenly we realised that we were under the sea and looked for leaks of any kind.imaging 20 ,000 leagues under the sea. A big sigh of relief came to our faces, there is light at the end of the chunnel. (I know I have a vivid imagination). With a champagne glow we disembarked to be met by our niece who whisked us away to a pre theatre supper followed by the show Chicago. We still talk about this special train trip to our friends and call it the best Birthday ever.

I was very excited to travel on board the Eurostar for my first time this year, as one of the most popular train journeys we sell I was looking forward to seeing how good it actually was. I had a three hour transit time in Paris, I was going to take a walk around, however it was pouring with rain so decided to take full use of the Eurostar lounge pass I had (available with Business Premier tickets) and I was so glad I did, it was wonderful, free internet access and WiFi, but more importantly fresh croissants, tarts, salad rolls, nuts, olives and the list goes on, breakfast or lunch was no longer required!! The best part was still to come though...at 10am a full bar was opened...complimentary!! I settled down nicely with a Gin and Tonic, and since I did have three hours I indulged in another!! It was then time to board the train, Eurostar lounge passengers can enter the platform via a private door no later than 10 minutes prior to the trains departure time, allowing as much time as possible for you to enjoy the lounge...which I did. The helpful attendant on the platform showed me to my 1st class seat and before I knew it the train was speeding off to London. Whilst on board we were offered a delicious glass of champagne and a few minutes later we were given lunch, when traveling in 1st class on the Eurostar all drinks and your meal are included in the price, fantastic value as I had a scrumptious Salmon with of course another glass of wine for lunch. After 2hrs & 15 minutes we had arrived at the lovely new St Pancras Station in London which is conveniently located next door to Kings Cross Station and even though I was perhaps a little tipsy, I was completely won over by the Eurostar and can see why it is such a popular train, there is nothing better than arriving at your destination in the city centre. A very enjoyable train ride!

London to Paris and back to London in a day. What an awesome full day this was. The trains are modern, fast and comfortable. Before you know it you've left the smog of London behind and your enjoying a coffee on the streets of paris and your view of the Eiffle tower. What better way to spend a day. After a full exhausting day looking at all the fabulous things in Paris you get to kick back and relax and enjoy your train ride back to London.
