Looking for a ticket to get you from A - B? Then the European point to point ticket is the answer for you.

European Train Tickets

Point to point train tickets are ideal for single journeys and for those who know exactly where they want to go. There is a wide range of fares that vary depending on what country you are travelling in.

Travelling between cities has never been more efficient with fast convenient connections between major cities. Most stations are located in the middle of the city so when you step off the train you are right in the thick of the action.

What is a point to point ticket?

On standard trains you receive an open ticket + an optional seat reservation. The open ticket is valid for 4 days from nominated train date, but the seat reservation is for a specific train. Point to point tickets and reservations are not valid on High speed trains such as TGVS, Thalys, Eurostar. When using our live booking engine you may see search results appear that say "ticket only" underneath the fare. This means the ticket you are purchasing is an open ticket. For trains in Europe, except France, this means it is valid for one month from the date you select. The ticket can be used on that route at any time during the 4 day period. No specific time will be printed on the ticket. Once you board the first train using your open ticket the journey must be completed by midnight of that same day. You may make as many stops as you like along the route covered by the open ticket.

On High speed trains the tickets are booked like flights: where you must travel on the date and time selected. These tickets also offer you a reserved seat onboard. Both time & date will be printed on your ticket for these trains.

Are seat reservations compulsory?

Seat/Sleeper reservations are compulsory on most High speed trains. Often, if you purchase a sector fare on a High speed train, then your seat reservation will be included in the cost of your ticket. If you are travelling with a pass then the reservations are at an additional cost.

For further information please refer to our seat and sleeper section.
