New experience for me. The ICE train was awesome. Fast and quiet. It did require some detailed planning to decide how many days pass we actually needed No issue with using the train pass because we kept it safe all the time.. During low season seat reservation may not be necessary for shorter trips (e.g. within 45 mins) however I do recommend paying extra 4-5 euro to reserve seat for longer journey no matter what especially if you are carrying your luggage. My wife and I made very good use of the rail pass and thoroughly enjoyed the train rides. Last but not least, 99% of the trains we got on departed on time as per schedule (very much so) so you gotta arrive early to get on the train and get seats.

There are no negatives, only positives, once you have your rail pass there are no queues to line up at, you record your date of travel and board the train. No need to reserve a seat unless the train looks full, in that case you can reserve a seat on line just to secure a seat.

makes complete sense (money wise if nothing else) to purchase a pass. The convenience also is a big benefit and very little admin to use. This product is a must if you travel abroad and want to use the efficiency of train travel in Europe...absolutely sold on the passes and if you get a special (which occurs regularly) you can be even more better off!

Initially, the purchasing of a rail pass and reservations was daunting, however, the assistance given by the team at RailPlus was excellent. Each person I delt with was extermely helpful and I had hepas of questions. The ICE trains in Germany were great. The only thing I am unsure of is whether one short leg of our trip could have been purchased in Germany to save some money, but as it was, the convenience of having everything sorted and paid for prior to leaving was wonderful. Thank you.
