You now validate the card yourself; no longer requiring someone at the first train station to validate for you - saves heaps of time. We went everywhere on our 5-day Paris Metro Card. To and from airport and Paris city. To and from Paris and Fontainebleau. All around Paris including the Eiffel Tower. To and from Paris to Disneyland. So easy to use and the discounts for attractions was an added bonus making it even more value for money. Would buy again definitely.

Although easily purchased on arrival in Paris we decided to purchase the Paris Visite metro card prior to leaving NZ and were glad we did. It was one less thing to worry about and we could use it as soon as we stepped off the Eurostar. Our holiday and site-seeing started straight away. There was no language problem or ticket machine queuing. A great "plug and play" ticket well worth getting. Would recommend.

The metro card was an excellent and economical way for our family of 6 to get around Paris over our four day stay. There was no need to activate the card , it just worked once you started travelling- great! Just be careful about where you store it, they are very small and can be easily mislaid!! Would recommend them to anyone.

We used a five day, zones 1 to 3 pass while we were staying in Paris in September this year. Being able to use the Metro when ever and where ever we wanted without having to purchase individual tickets for each trip is a huge bonus. Coupled with the fact that we had unlimited use of the network, the Metro pass offers excellent value for your money. I have no hesitation in recommending this product. It provides the ideal method for visitors to get around Paris quickly and easily.

When my husband and i visit Paris we choose to stay in colourful Montmartre rather than down in central Paris which is beautiful but busy with the incessant traffic and crowds. However, this does mean that when we wish to visit that area, which is reasonably often, we need to use the Metro. Our hotel of choice is right next door to the Abbesses Metro and the Paris Metro Card makes travelling around the city exceptionally easy, quick and saves us a lot of money. I highly recommend it and would not travel to Paris without it.

Only problem we had was when we couldn't get the suitcase through the turnstile and had to use it again - it didn't work. Fortunately someone let us through the exit gate. We had previously bought tickets whilst in Paris, but this was just great. Fantastic. Best thing we ever did was to purchase before we went to Paris.

I had one problem when on a few occasions the Paris Visite card would not activate the opening of the entry to the Metro. I needed to queue at the Info window and get the card reactivated. It is possible that my mobile phone or camera which were both in close proximity, could have caused this problem. When I returned to Paris a fortnight later and used my 2nd Visite card, I made sure I kept it well away from these other devices and had no problem at all.

Buying our Paris Metro Card (Paris Visite) before we left for our trip was one of the best things I did. We had to come through Paris a couple of times on our trip, so I bought a selection of 2 and 5 days tickets. The fact that we already had the tickets meant that we just had to worry about where we were going on the train, we didn't' have to think about our lack of French, whether or not we had change or even about pick pockets. I had the tickets in my pocket with my hand over the top, ready to go. We didn't have to stop and look around like tourists. The one time we had to purchase a ticket (to get to Orly airport) we were faced with long lines, no change and we were eventually scammed and lost €20. My only regret in our whole trip was that I hadn't purchased the 5 zone Paris Visite for our last day, then this would could have been avoided. My son is off to Paris in a couple of months, I will not let him leave Australia without his pre-purchased Paris Visite cards! We are then joining him in December and we will not leave Australia without our pre-purchased Paris Visite Cards. For any Australians planning to go to Paris and use the metro (which is convenient & easy to use) - my number 1 tip would be to pre-purchase your Paris Visite cards from Rail Plus. 100% satisfaction guaranteed.

Shame that the tickets are so small (would have been nice if they were like the Oyster Card) but of course all the other local Paris metro tickets are small as well - easy to get lost in one's wallet. Apart from that very easy to use and with each carriage having a "line map" its easy to follow your trip and know when you need to get off the train.

This was the second time I have used the Paris Visite pass. For our short stay, we decided on a 3 day pass for Zones 1-3. We could have bought the Zone 1-5 pass, but took the view as we had limited days available to us, the only extra use (but significant extra cost) would have been to use it from CDG airport to Gare du Nord/Paris Nord. It was therefore more cost effective to buy a single ticket for use between CDG to Gare du Nord for around 9 Euro each. These passes work brilliantly and save the hassle of buying individual tickets for the Metro, etc. If you plan to travel frequently by public transport and don't want to feel constrained, these passes effectively allow you to budget your Paris transport costs. It's a shame that cell phone costs are 'capped' in the same way.

We were a bit hesitant on using the Paris Metro, neither myself or my family speak french. But we highly recommend it! It was easy to use, on time, fast and confortable. We were able to get to all of Paris landmarks using the Metro. We even used it at night without any problems or feeling unsafe. We would use it again without hesitation!

Simple, convenient and handy. Remember to validate the ticket on first use. There are many buskers on Paris metro trains and they are generally older and play French songs. This provides welcome entertainment travelling underground. Trains are fast, comfortable but often crowded so you might have to stand.

I bought three tickets for myself and two friends. Two worked perfectly but the third worked for the first trip from the airport to our apartment but did not work after that. We took the ticket to French rail staff who looked at it and put it in a machine and said it was fine and would now work. However it did not work. We tried this several times queuing to get to the ticket window each time and struggling to get the message across in our limited French. However though the ticket was valid it did not work. People said jump the barriers but this is not really an option for middle aged women. Sometime the barriers were open and we could get through anyway. Several times when we were stuck we were saved by generous French commuters who put one of us through on there weekly or gave us a ticket. For the last early morning trip to the airport we bought a daily ticket so there would be no problems (but the barrier was open anyway). I hope something can be done to resolve this problem.

It worked seemlessly on the Metro, buses and RER regional lines - everything we tried! The hardest part was ascertaining where the ticket reader machines were on the bus and whether the card was needed agin at the end of a trip on the Metro and RER - it seemed sometines yes and other times no. It is difficult to know whether we saved money overall by using the Paris Visite Card as we did not know the cost of each trip that we made. Nevertheless, for tourists with weak French speaking skills, this certainly removed the hassle.

However, unless you are going to be doing a far bit of travelling by public transport it may not always work out cheaper than purchasing tickets as you go. We also had trouble with one of our cards not working and we had to have the card re programmed so we could use it.

The ACTUAL card is fine .. but trying to use the Paris Metro is just a terrible nightmare . There are virtually no signs in English - no information booths to assist foreign travellers , maps and plans are so small as to be unreadable and unuseable. Prepare your self for hours trying to figure out how to just get from A to B. If you have suitcases with you hail a taxi you will go nuts otherwise. Therefore in that sense its a waste of money. My review may seem harsh to seasoned Parisians but if you are trying to encourage more overseas visitors especially from Australia a lot more needs to be done to help us use the system. Its useless having signs 4 levels down when you need them at the top level.

We bought four Metro Cards in Australia before we left for France, only to find once we arrived at the first station that 3 of the cards worked and one didn't. This was a huge inconvenience and there really wasn't anything we could do about it there. We were forced to jump turnstiles, use cards twice at the same place, etc. We also had two young children and found the Paris underground very difficult to negotiate with kids and prams.
