While we were there in a very cold Winter, and queues were reduced, it really enhances the whole museum experience, and all of the "must sees" are covered by it. Just be sure of opening days, as they vary.

The pass was easy to use and excellent value for what was offered however I ran out of time so didn't make full use of the opportunities. If I was going to use it again on another trip I would plan my time better.

Palace of Versailles was not worth the wait 1.5 hours snaking up and down before you get to the entrance. You get herded through in a crush of people and have no time to enjoy the experience. If this is a must see destination for you visit the gardens they were spectacular.

We rocked up to the Louvre on our first day and there was a line of over 400 people I nearly fell over. I thought we will never get to many atractions if we had to wait two or three hour for entry. I asked one of the security guys about our Museum pass and he pointed us to another entrance. We had direct entry no waiting and all included. This happened at all other sites. And we planned our visits and got the best value no reaching for more cash all the time. One of the best value for money purchases.

My wife and myself had a great time in Paris and with purchasing these tickets before hand it made it so easy to get into the museums. And again there was no waiting around to line up to purchase tickets showed the passes and were straight in. We would do this again thankyou to the team from rail plus we have had a great holiday so far and trust it will continue.

No fault of the Paris Museum Pass, but our experience is that it might not be possible to get effective use of this card because a day (or more) could easily be spent at some of the famous sites (e.g. Louvre and Musee d'Orsay) due to a combination of the enormity of the buildings and the large crowds - even during the low season!

When I purchased the Paris museum pass, there was no discussion about the closing times of the museums, or the dates we would be in Paris. After purchase I was devastated to discover that all national museums are closed Mondays and all local museums are closed on Tuesdays - the days we intended to use the pass. Not a good look for Rail Plus which otherwise offered a good service.

Moderator: "Under the 'Details' section of the Paris Museum Pass you can read that "Most museums and monuments are generally closed Monday or Tuesday and on January 1st, May 1st and December 25. (subject to change)""

Was excellent at the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay as we avoided queues. No value at all at Versailles as the queue was 350 metres long and there was no preferential entrance for pass holders. No value at the Musee d'Armes either as admission was free anyway.

Our 4-day pass made it easy and convenient to gain entry to many wonderful museums. We experienced one or two instances of rude service and frustrating closures, eg Picasso Museum was closed for renovation. However, the fault wasn't with the museum pass. Our main issue with the pass was that we didn't see enough museums over the four days to make it good value for money. The larger ones such as the Louvre and Musee d'Orsay and even some of the smaller ones demand a full day. We might have seen more museums by rushing but it would have defeated the purpose. A pass which allowed a specified number of visits spread over a flexible timeframe would have better suited our needs. Nevertheless, the convenience of the pass made the additional cost worthwhile for us.

As a family of four visiting France in December (no crowds anyway) with only 3days to visit ALOT of places it may be more economical to pay as you go. We did Notre Dame, The Louvre, Versailles Palace & Arc de Triomphe over 3 days - children are usually free and the cost for adults is not exorbitant. Work out what you want to see and how much time you have to do it BEFORE you purchase the pass which is great if you have the time to see ALOT of museums.
