The 7 day travel pass is amazing value if you plan on using the metro at least twice a day. We were able to pick up the pass at Paddington station (where we got off the airport train) and begin using it straight away. buying individual tickets can be very very expensive in london so this is essential if you wish to travel there.

2. "Worthwhile investment for a short stay. Multiple daily trips possible. Hop-on/off capacity."

Staying in Kensington, I was able to make considerable use of the travel card on tube, bus, DLR, and two trips to Heathrow. I am quite familiar with London but was struck this time (as an older person) that the general public transport system is not very disability friendly. The refurbished Kings Cross/St Pancras is the best underground. For most others, there are stairs to negotiate. Not easy with crowds and packages/luggage.

A real nuisance that you have to go to a mainline station to start the card. Would be much more convenient to do it at an Underground station. There are few main line stations in the centre of London and you then have to pay a fare to get to one! Also very inconvenient that the days purchased have to be consecutive.

We picked up our London Travelcard at Heathrow, and used it to get to our hotel. Then used extensively over the next three days to get around the city, connect with other transport, and move freely about the various sites we wanted to visit.

Once we had the travel card it was very convenient as we didn't have to find the change for a train. It was disappointing to have to travel to another station and have it verified before we could use it.

Being able to buy the product in advance in Australia is great - only getting a voucher and having to get to a mainline rail station for the actual travelcard is simply stupid. Arriving at Heathrow and having to get into London without being able to get your travelcard immediately is unacceptable - you may not even want to go to a mainline rail station at all during your trip !

Moderator: "This info is given with the voucher. London Travelcard Vouchers can be redeemed at Heathrow Airport Central Transport Interchange in the National Express Coach Station Ticket Office (adjacent to Underground station). Passengers with Zones 1 & 2 Vouchers though are recommended to exchange on arrival in Central London as the tickets are not valid from Heathrow anyway. Passengers arriving at Terminal 5 may exchange their London Travelcard Vouchers at the National Express Ticket Office immediately to your left as you leave International Arrivals."

We travelled first class as we always do but discovered that Business Premium now provides the wines and food we expected this time. It disappointed us but won't prevent us from travelling on the Eurostar again.

I was staying in Slough, so a 9 pound return to area where I could use travelcard. If Ihad purchased a similar travelcard with return ticket to Paddington station it was only 11.40 pound, so would have been much cheaper
