The Blue Train 2012

Weaving a distinctive thread of blue across the tapestry of South Africa's captivating landscape, The Blue Train has become synonymous with the ultimate in luxury and personal service.

Luxury takes on a new dimension with The Blue Train with a journey that is defined by personal attention and devotion to detail. Relax as you depart on the 27 hour journey between Cape Town's monolithic Table Mountain and the jacaranda-lined streets of Pretoria. Southbound, off-the train excursions include the diamond town of Kimberley where one can explore the Big Hole and the Diamond Museum. Northbound, stop at Matjiesfontein from where guests will be transferred to Aquila for lunch and a visit to their Cheetah project.

Delivery fees: e-Vouchers are free of charge for booking which ONLY contain Eurostar, UK or French journey trains (must start in France), Self-Print Your Ticket is free of charge for booking which ONLY contain Eurostar, UK, French journey trains or Spanish trains(subject to certain routes), $10 Australia Post (registered or express) or $18 Courier.

Prices are correct at time of publication and are guaranteed until each Monday 5pm. Prices are reviewed weekly on Tuesday and may be subject to change. Rail Plus will honour the price when the booking is paid for in full.

  • Children Reservations for children are on request only and at the discretion of The Blue Train. Children aged 2 years and younger are to share with parents or guardians. No special meal menus are available for children. A strict child policy applies on board the train.
