Cape Town to Pretoria or vice versa 3 days/2 nights

CAPE TOWN - PRETORIA

Day 1 Monday/Saturday

11:00 Depart from Platform 23 at Cape Town Station and proceed inland to Worcester
13:00 Lunch will be served in the dining car/s.
17:45 Upon arrival at Matjiesfontein guests may visit this quaint, historical village
19:00 Depart Matjiesfontein
19:30 Dinner will be served in the dining car/s.

Day 2 Tuesday/Sunday

07:00 Breakfast will be served in the dining car until 10h00.
12:30 Lunch is served in the dining car/s
14:30 Upon arrival in Kimberley board the bus for a tour of the Big Hole and the Diamond and Mine Museum.
16:00 Depart Kimberley
19:30 Dinner will be served in the dining car/s as we pass through Bloemhof
and Leeudoringstad en route to Klerksdorp.

Day 3 Wednesday/Monday

07:00 Breakfast will be served in the dining car/s until 10h00. The train continues the journey towards Pretoria passing through Krugersdorp, Johannesburg and Germiston
12:00 Arrive at Rovos Rail's Capital Park Station, Pretoria

PRETORIA - CAPE TOWN

Day 1 Wednesday/Friday

15:00 Depart Rovos Rail's private Capital Park Station aboard the Pride of Africa
19:30 Dinner is served in the dining car/s.

Day 2 Thursday/Saturday

07:00 Breakfast is served in the dining car/s until 09h45
09:45 Arrive in Kimberley. Passengers visit the Big Hole and the Mine and Diamond Museum.
12:30 Depart from Kimberley and proceed overnight via De Aar and Beaufort West to Matjiesfontein.
13:00 Lunch is served in the dining car/s.
19:30 Dinner will be served in the dining car/s.

Day 3 Friday/Sunday

08:00 There is an opportunity to disembark the Train at Whitehill siding and walk or
jog the 5 kilometres into Matjisefontein. The Train Manager or a member of
staff will accompany you. Comfortable walking or running shoes are essential.
08:25 Visit the historic village of Matjiesfontein
10:30 Depart Matjiesfontein and proceed via Touws River, De Doorns and Worcester to Cape Town
13:00 Lunch will be served as we pass through the Hex River Valley and the town of
Worcester.
18:00 Arrival at Platform 24 Cape Town Station where our journey ends.

Pretoria to Durban or vice versa 3 days/2 nights

PRETORIA - DURBAN

Day 1 Friday

10:00 The Pride Of Africa departs Rovos Rail's Station in Capital Park
13:00 Lunch is served as the train passes through Heidelberg (1 903ms).
19:30 Dinner is served in the dining car/s.
22:30 The train arrives at Elandslaagte for the overnight stop.

Day 2 Saturday

05:00 An early wake up call for a game drive in the Nambiti Private Game
Reserve.
05:15 Tea, coffee, juices and pastries will be served in the dining car/s.Please ensure you are warmly dressed. As the morning drive progresses the weather can warm up considerably, so please also ensure you have hats and sun protection. Rain capes will be available if required.
11:30 Brunch will be served in the dining car/s as we travel towards Estcourt.
14:00 Disembark for the 40min drive to Spionkop Lodge.
A choice of two excursions are available:
1. An escorted tour of the battlefields or
2. Game drive in the Spionkop Game Reserve
18:30 Enjoy sundowners while overlooking the magnificent Spionkop dam. A traditional South African dinner will be served at Spionkop Lodge

Day 3 Sunday

07:00 Breakfast is served as the train departs Estcourt
10:00 Disembark the train for a visit to the famous Ardmore ceramics gallery including an equestrian display and tea overlooking the river.
13:00 Lunch is served as the train traverses the spectacular Valley of a Thousand
Hills.
16:00 Arrive Durban

DURBAN - PRETORIA

Day 1 Monday

10:00 The Pride Of Africa departs from Durban Station
13:00 Lunch is served as the train passes through the rolling hills and cane-fields of Kwazulu Natal
15:00 Disembark train for a visit to the famous Ardmore ceramics gallery, including an equestrian display & tea next to the river.
19:30 Dinner is served in the Dining Car as we pass through the Swaziland border

Day 2 Tuesday

05:00 An early wake up call for a choice of two excursions :
Option 1- A game drive in the Spionkop Nature Reserve.
Option 2- An escorted tour of the Battlefields.
11:00 Brunch is served in the Dining Car
15:00 Disembark at Elandslaagte for a game drive in the Nambiti Private Game
Reserve
19:30 Dinner is served as the train departs for the overnight journey to Vooruitsig.

Day 3 Wednesday

07:00 - 10:00 Breakfast is served as we depart Vooruitsig
13:00 Lunch is served as the train heads towards journeys end
16:00 Arrive at Rovos Rail's Capital Park Station, Pretoria

Pretoria to Victoria Falls or vice versa 3 days/2 nights

PRETORIA - VICTORIA FALLS

Day 1 Thursday

10:00 The Pride Of Africa departs from Rovos Rail's private Station in Capital Park
13:00 Lunch is served in the Dining Car/s en route to Warmbaths
19:30 After traversing the Soutpansberg Mountains dinner is served as the trains heads towards Messina for border formalities

Day 2 Friday

07:00 Breakfast served in the Dining Car/s
13:00 Lunch is served in the Dining Car/s
19:30 Dinner is served in the Dining Car/s

Day 3 Saturday

07:00 Breakfast served in the Dining Car/s
13:00 Lunch is served in the Dining Car/s
17:00 Arrive at the Victoria Falls where your Rovos Rail journey ends.

 

VICTORIA FALLS - PRETORIA

Day 1 Sunday

10:00 Depart Victoria Falls Station
13:00 Lunch is served in the Dining Car/s
20:00 Dinner is served in the Dining Car/s

Day 2 Monday

06:30 Breakfast served in the Dining Car/s
13:00 Lunch is served in the Dining Car/s
20:00 Dinner is served as the trains heads towards Beit Bridge for border formalities

Day 3 Tuesday

05:00 The train departs Beit Bridge
07:00 Breakfast served in the Dining Car/s
13:00 Lunch is served in the Dining Car/s
17:00 Arrive at journey's end, the gracious Capital Park Station in Pretoria

Pretoria to Swakopmund or vice versa 7 days/6 nights

PRETORIA - SWAKOPMUND

Day 1

15:30 Depart Pretoria from Rovos Rail's private Capital Park station.
19:30 Dinner is served in the dining car/s.

Day 2

07:00 Breakfast is served in the dining car/s until 09h45.
9.45 Arrive in Kimberley. Tour of the Big Hole and City of Kimberley
12:30 Depart Kimberley.
13:00 Lunch is served in the dining car/s.
19:30 Dinner is served in the dining car/s.

Day 3

06:30 Depart Nakop and Ariumsvlei after immigration formalities
07:00 Breakfast is served in the dining car/s until 10h00
12:00 Arrive Holoog Siding. Visit to the Fish River Canyon with lunch at Canyon Lodge.
19:30 Dinner is served in the dining car/s.

Day 4

07:00 Breakfast is served in the dining car/s until 10h00
10:00 Arrive Windhoek Station. Museum visit and Windhoek City Tour. Lunch at Okapuka Ranch
with an afternoon game drive.
13:00 Lunch will be taken at Okapuka Game Lodge followed by an afternoon game drive.
19:30 Dinner is served in the dining car/s.

Day 5

07:00 Breakfast is served in the dining car/s until 10h00.
11:00 Arrive in Tsumeb. Disembark for coach transfer to Mokuti Lodge.
12:45 Arrive at Mokuti Lodge for lunch, an afternoon game drive and overnight stay at the lodge.Please pack a small overnight bag. Tog bags have been placed in your suite for yourconvenience. Comfortable clothes and shoes for hot days and cool evenings are essential. Sun tan lotion and hats are strongly recommended.
13:00 Lunch is served in the dining area at the lodge
15:00 Afternoon game drive
19:00 Dinner at the lodge.

Day 6

06:00 Morning game drive into Etosha Pan
11:30 Depart by coach from Mokuti Lodge and rejoin the train in Tsumeb
13:00 Lunch is served in the dining car/s while we depart from Tsumeb.

Day 7

07:00 Breakfast is served in the dining car/s until 10h00.
12:30 Arrive in Swakopmund

 

SWAKOPMUND - PRETORIA

Day 1

12:00 Depart Swakopmund
13:00 Lunch is served in the dining car/s.
19:30 Dinner is served in the dining car/s.

Day 2

11:30 Arrive Tsumeb. Transfer to Mokuti Lodge for game drive and overnight.
Please pack a small overnight bag. Tog bags have been placed in your suite for your convenience. Comfortable clothes and shoes for hot days and cool evenings are essential. Sun tan lotion and hats are strongly recommended.
13:00 Lunch is served in the dining area at the lodge
15:00 Afternoon game drive
19:00 Dinner at the lodge.

Day 3

06:00 Morning game drive into the Etosha Pan.
11:30 Depart by coach from Mokuti Lodge and rejoin the train in Tsumeb.
13:00 Lunch is served in the dining car/s while we depart from Tsumeb.

Day 4

07:00 Breakfast is served in the dining car/s until 10h00.
10:00 The train arrives in Windhoek. Visit the train museum followed by a city tour.
13:00 Lunch will be taken at Okapuka Game Lodge followed by an afternoon game drive.
17:00 Return to the train and depart Okapuka.
19:30 Dinner is served in the dining car/s.

Day 5

07:00 Breakfast is served in the dining car/s until 10h00.
10:00 Arrive Holoog Siding. Visit to the Fish River Canyon.
13:00 Lunch is served in the dining car/s.
18:00 Arrive in Ariumsvlei and Nakop for immigration formalities.
19:30 Dinner is served in the dining car/s.

Day 6

07:00 Breakfast is served in the dining car/s until 10h00
12:30 Lunch is served in the dining car/s
14:30 Arrive in Kimberley. Guests disembark and proceed by coach/combi for a tour of the city,
the "Big Hole "and the Mine Museum
16:00 Rejoin the train at Kimberley Station.

Day 7

07:00 Breakfast is served in the dining car/s until 10h00
11:30 Arrive at Rovos Rail's private Capital Park Station in Pretoria.

9:00 Durban City tour followed by lunch at the Durban Beachwood CC.

Day 6

9:00 Walk at Champagne Sports Resort or professional tour of Battlefields, shopping and rejoin
the train.

Day 7

7:00 Depart Ladysmith. Day Leisure on the train.

09:30 Explore Sun city
14:00 Lunch at Gary Player CC.

7:00 Depart Rutensberg
10:00 Arrive Capital Park Station; Pretoria

11:00 Brunch is served in the dining car while we travel through Komatipoort to the Swaziland border.

05:00 Wake up call for a game drive in the Hluhluwe Reserve.
10:30 The train departs Hluhluwe for Durban.
18:00 Arrive in Durban for overnight

Day 4

06:00 Depart Durban en route to Kroonstad. Disembark the train at 10h00 for a visit to the famous Ardmore ceramics gallery.
12:30 Return to the train for lunch and depart for Kroonstad. Overnight in Kroonstad.

Day 5

10:00 Enjoy a tour of Bloemfontein. Return to the train for a 13h00 departure for Port Elizabeth.

Day 6

09:00 Tour of Addo Elephant Park near Port Elizabeth. Return to the train for a 12h45 departure for Oudtshoorn.

Day 7

10:00 Arrive in Oudtshoorn for Ostrich Farm visit.
12:00 The train departs for George. Afternoon at leisure. Disembark at 18h00 for dinner at Fancourt Golf Estate.

Day 8

09:00 Disembark the train for a morning tour of Knysna. Depart for George at 13h30.

Day 9

11:00 Arrive in Worcester for a tour of the KWV Brandy Distillery. Depart for a 17h00 arrival at Platform 23, Cape Town Station.
