TGV Med features 3 brand new stations built exclusively for high-speed travel (Valence TGV, Avignon TGV and Aix-en-Provence TGV).

The regular renovated TGV offers more comfortable seats, remodeled floors and walls, improved lighting, cell phone space in 3 cars, additional luggage space in the middle of the 2nd class coaches, Information centre.

Travel at speeds over 300kms per hour from Paris and Lyon to the French Mediterranean destinations such as Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Montpellier, Nimes and Nice with the TGV Med. This brand new high speed line provides frequent service from Paris to the Mediterranean Sea.

Passholder Fares explained:

There are 2 types of Passholder fares available for the TGV Med. They are defined below:

  • Passholder 1 fares are valid for passengers carrying Eurail Global, Eurail Select Pass and Eurail two country pass including France.(Cheapest)
  • Passholder 2 fares are valid for passengers carrying France Rail Pass ONLY


First and Second Class:

  • A choice of newspapers and magazines for purchase at the bar.
  • Buffet car open for the duration of the journey (coach # 4 or 14). A wide choice of food and refreshments are available for purchase in the bar car: hot and cold meals, sandwiches, desserts, and hot and cold beverages.
  • Facilities for handicapped travelers. Dedicated car in 1st class (accessible with a second class ticket) with a built-in wheelchair lift and wheelchair space. There are also disabled facilities in the stations.
