The private line from Naples to Sorrento is not covered by any Eurail or Italy Pass.

The train from Naples to Sorrento is a private train that can only be purchased from Naples Garibaldi, which is joined to Naples Centrale Station.
It is a short walk of approximately 5 minutes from Centrale to Garibaldi, however you will need to allow more time if you have a lot of luggage or if you are going in the peak seasons from May to September.

Tickets:
Tickets from Naples to Sorrento and vice versa are approximately 3 Euro one way per person, and depart every 30 minutes. The train usually goes via Pompeii and will take about 1hr and 10 minutes to get from Naples to Sorrento.

The Train:
It is important to note that this train does not have luggage racks or any designated area to place your luggage, except for the door section which does not have seats. This means you will likely be standing the entire time with your luggage at the doors, or you will need to take it in turns with your travel partner to mind the bags. The train is not well kept at all, so it is also a good idea to be aware that

The trains are very basic, and much like metro trains. They are not always clean and there is no food or drink on board for you to eat, so you will need to bring your own snacks or beverages on board.

Sorrento - Amalfi Coast:
Once you get into Sorrento, you are able to take a bus to either Positano or Amalfi or any one of the small villages along this routing. It will cost you upwards of approx 7 Euro per person, one way. Buses run hourly from Sorrento to Amalfi and take about 1hr 30mins.
