Sicily is the south-most region of Italy, and the largest Island in the Mediterranean Sea. Located just a couple of kilometers off the tip of the Italian "boot", Sicily is famed for its beautiful beaches, cuisine and fascinating history.
Things to do include exploring the ancient ruins at Siracusa; trekking around the active Volcano Mt Etna, step back in time and visit the Greek temple and amphitheatre in Segesta or go for a walk around the large capital of Palermo and dive head first into the Sicilian way of life. There is so much to see and do in Sicily that you will be spoilt for choice, but don't miss out on any opportunity to experience as much of their unique culinary delights as possible.
The main cities of interest are Palermo, Messina, Agrigento, Catania and Siracusa
Any Italy Rail Pass also includes the small portion of the journey when the train boards a ferry to cross from the mainland to get to Sicily.
