Rail Plus can offer a reliable, cost efficient way to travel to and from Rome to the Port of Civitavecchia, which is the Port for major cruise lines departing from Rome

Trains depart regularly in each direction and you have the choice of a High speed train that takes approx 41 minutes or a regional train that takes approximately 1 hour.

ROMA TERMINI TO CIVITAVECCHIA OR V.V

If you know the time you need to board for your cruise, we recommend that you travel on a High speed IC (Inter City) train. With this service it is possible to book a seat.

  • High speed trains depart approximately every 2 hours
  • Regional trains depart approximately every 30 minutes

On arrival at Civitavecchia, exit the station to the right and there is an approximate 6 minute walk to the main entrance to the Port. Just inside the entrance you will find buses for your Cruise Line that offer a free shuttle to the Terminal your Cruise departs from.

On your return, the trains depart on a very similar schedule to that shown above for travel from Rome, but Rail Plus recommend that you purchase an open dated ticket for travel on a Regional train as this way you are not locked in to a given train and if for any reason your ships arrival is delayed or you are late disembarking your ticket is still valid.
