Why the Vikings ever left Denmark to go and conquer other lands is one of the world's great mysteries. Talk about hard to please! These days, the Danes seem to have rid themselves of their restless warring ways and settled down to a life that is now the benchmark of civilisation with progressive policies, commitment to free speech and a liberal social-welfare system.
