Austria
Birthplace of the Habsburg Empire, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and, of course, the Wiener Schnitzel, Austria remains one of Europe's biggest drawing cards. Whether it's taking in an operetta at one of Vienna's magnificent concert halls or snow boarding your legs off in its equally magnificent Alps, you'll find Austria offers an amazingly diverse range of attractions in a country that's not much bigger than Tassie.
Here are just a few things you might like to do:
- Freeze yourself silly exploring the world's highest ice cave just outside of Salzburg. The view from the top is spectacular!
- Visit the city of Innsbruck which is full of students and, consequently, full of beer gardens
- Go take a running jump off a mountain with a guy (and a parachute) at St. Johan
- Or visit the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna and checkout some of the amazing rooms. There are 1401 altogether but only 40 are open to the public.
